About ChangeMakers
ChangeMakers is a network of organisations which are being built by local people for local people – and for the common good of Manchester, Bradford, Teesside, County Durham and other areas of the UK where people want to work together to bring about change in their communities. It is a response to the experience that many people have of feeling powerless to influence the decisions which impact upon their lives. It is also a response to (and from) the significant numbers of people in the UK who are marginalised from the mainstream by poverty and disadvantage.
Why get involved with ChangeMakers?
ChangeMakers:
· aims to bring together a diverse membership who will work together to shape the common good;
· aims to become a powerful force for social cohesion;
· will act on peoples’ values: humanitarian, social, democratic, and religious – it will have a soul;
· will do what public structures are by definition unable to do – create a political space for people to act from their own integrity.
